The 2026 style spine

Why the work doesn't read as AI-generated.

Every prompt runs against the same style spine, so the whole portfolio reads as one studio's output. That's what separates a top-rated portfolio from one that obviously came out of a chatbot.

Cinematic colour grade

Slightly desaturated highlights, warm shadows. Never over-saturated.

Studio-grade lighting

Considered key, fill and reflection. Reads as a real shoot. Not flat, not fake.

Real surface texture

Pores, weave, dust, grain. Never plastic-skin or wax-product retouching.

What we avoid
  • Flat, evenly-lit catalogue snaps
  • Hyper-saturated rainbow gradients
  • Plastic-skin retouching
  • Multiple competing focal points
  • Generic stock-photo backdrops
How it works

From brief to upload-ready in a couple of days.

01

Send the brief

Tell me the product or channel, the niche, and any references. A quick back-and-forth locks the direction before I generate anything.

02

First draft

I generate against the style spine and send the first composition. Framing, grade and text are locked, and it doesn't read as AI.

03

Refine

Three rounds of revisions on grade, crop, composition or props, until it looks right.

04

Delivery

High-resolution finals, sized for your storefront and listings, ready to upload.

Who makes it

Hugo Idle

R&D Engineer · Founder

I'm Hugo, a mechanical design engineer with five years' experience. I run marketing and business development for a deep-tech startup, where I handle complex technical design and product renders and built the company's marketing website. So there's a real design eye behind every IdleImage shot. Briefs come from me personally, never outsourced, and if one doesn't land we keep iterating until it does. It's also why this starts at £35, not £750.

Tell me what you're selling.

A few lines is enough. I'll come back with a recommendation and a first draft before anything is confirmed.

Questions

The bit before you hit send.

Cheaper and faster than a real shoot, and done-for-you rather than DIY. A proper product shoot on Fiverr starts around £150 per shot for anything that doesn't look like a phone snap, and takes 5 to 10 days. The cheap AI tools (Photoroom, Pebblely and the like) hand you a subscription and leave the work to you. IdleImage sits in the middle: I run the pipeline for you and deliver five finished hero shots for £75 in 48 hours. The tradeoff is that I can't physically hold your product. But if your buyers will accept a generated hero (the portfolio above proves they will), the maths is obvious. I also keep a small Fiverr gig running for one-off thumbnails if that's all you need.

All shots are yours to use commercially, in perpetuity. Amazon listings, Shopify stores, ads, anywhere. No royalties, no per-channel licensing, no time limits. The only thing I ask is that you don't resell the raw files as stock.

Every brief includes three rounds of revisions per shot. Most briefs land on round one because we lock the style direction before I generate anything. If something's off, tell me what to change and I'll redo it. And if it still doesn't land, I'll redo it properly or refund you. No arguments.

Both. Send me clear reference photos of your product from a few angles (a normal phone shoot is fine) and I'll use those as the foundation. What changes is the lighting, composition, surface, props, and atmosphere. The product stays your product. For invented brand work (catalogues, mood boards, mockups) I work from a description.

Because I'm not flying to your warehouse, renting a studio, or styling props for six hours. I'm an R&D engineer running an AI pipeline I built myself, so my marginal cost per shot is effectively the compute. That's a real cost advantage. Not a discount, not a loss-leader. As demand grows the price will too.
